"“Horrible Experience at Detox Center, Staff Uncaring and Facility Dirty”"

I regret choosing this detox center, it was awful. The staff didn't seem to care about anyone or anything and the place was dirty. When I arrived, the front desk lady acted like I was bothering her and she wasn’t even wearing shoes when she helped me check in. Another problem happened when I took a urine test and left it on a bathroom sill as instructed. After waiting three hours, someone else went in and either poured my sample down the drain, or used it for their own test. I had to give another sample but they messed up and reported the wrong results, so I didn’t get the help I needed. Once I was put in a room with seven other guys (which was okay), but I wasn’t given food or comfort medicines because they messed up my test results. Then, at 2 a.m. when I was hungry and feeling awful from withdrawal, one of the other patients peed near my bed instead of using the restroom. I had to leave after that. Back in the intake area, I was promised one phone call and decided to reach out to the local police. But the staff wouldn’t let me (aren’t they supposed to help?). I had to walk to a nearby house and ask the resident to call the cops. When I returned to the detox center, the front desk lady acted like she didn’t have keys to the locker room and I couldn’t access my stuff. They make you sign a form saying you can only get your belongings at certain times, but that's not right. From past experience with a different center, I know they can’t keep your stuff hostage. Don’t go to this center or send your loved ones here. It will only set back your recovery.
