"Lie of Luxury: A Disastrous Opioid Detox Experience"

This facility doesn't handle opioid detox properly. Even though there's help available around the clock, the main doctor is only there for some of the day and never answers when they're needed after they leave. When they're admitting you, they'll promise you a luxury experience and that all patients get excellent care, but I found my room dirty with leftover trash from whoever stayed there before me, and I had to clean it up myself. The water pressure was really bad, which is very important if you're trying to detox. So, this place is far from luxurious. The medical staff changes all the time, and they're short-staffed. This often means that there's someone who doesn't know what they're doing in important roles. I want to note that they don't use methadone, and they usually give you Subutex too soon, which can cause withdrawal symptoms to hit early. This happened to me, and they couldn't help me, so I had to call an ambulance to get to the hospital. I asked them for Ativan and Zofran, not more opioids. I said I was in so much pain I wanted to cut my legs off. They finally called an ambulance then. My blood pressure was super high. A staff member was doling out hot water on my legs from pots heated on the stove, because the shower was really cold and didn't have any water pressure. Eventually a sheriff showed up and told me they'd put me on a suicide watch because I said I wanted to harm myself. Then I was handcuffed and taken to the hospital. Psychiatrists at the hospital gave me Ativan and Zofran and then discharged me because wanting to detox doesn't mean you're suicidal. When I got back to the rehab 36 hours later, totally exhausted, they locked me out of my room, handed me my luggage, and told me to leave. I couldn't believe it when they still sent me a bill afterwards. The only good thing about this place were the techs working there. Everything else was just a rip-off.
