Miami Beach Outpatient Psychotherapy
Outpatient psychotherapy is the treatment of psychological disorders through scheduled therapeutic visits between the therapist and the individual. The focus of outpatient psychotherapy treatment is to improve symptoms that may significantly interfere with functioning in at least one life domain (e.g., familial, social, occupational, educational, etc.). The goals, frequency, and duration of outpatient treatment will vary according to individual needs and response to treatment.
Addiction is characterized by inability to consistently abstain, impairment in behavioral control, craving, diminished recognition of significant problems with one's behaviors and interpersonal relationships, and a dysfunctional emotional response. Like other chronic diseases, addiction often involves cycles of relapse and remission.
