"Inadequate, Negligent Staff at David Lawrence Center Endanger Clients"

The staff here lack proper training and don't seem to care about the wellbeing of their clients at all. I've noticed a high rate of employee turnover which doesn’t settle well—they need to get a handle on that. There have been multiple complaints filed with multiple entities, including the Joint Commission, Florida State Attorney General's Office and DCF, the Department of Children and Families. It seems their providers aren’t capable of handling the responsibilities, they have a dangerous lack of knowledge about medications. They are failing their clients. I'm going to bring these concerns to the attention of the Collier County Board of Commissioners. We need to make sure the center's private donors know how their donations are being misused. There's a scandal that everyone should be aware of. This center once evaluated a person who went on to commit murder, and they didn’t protect the public from him. This guy was evaluated and then just released. Had they kept him for observation, a woman who was killed by him might still be alive. This woman was a mother, a sister, and she was going through some tough times by herself. Nobody protected her from a seriously mentally ill man and her death could've been prevented if David Lawrence Center was competent to evaluate professionally. It seems like they’re trying to cover up their huge mistake and it’s just unacceptable.
