"Inadequate Care for Anorexic Daughter at Expensive Facility"

My daughter had a terrible experience here. They took her in knowing she suffered from anorexia, but just two days in, they left her at the nearby hospital's ER. Apparently, they said she'd been messing with her feeding tube - a problem they knew about and they'd promised to closely watch over her all day and night. Despite what the hospital told them, they used a feeding machine instead of a syringe. She lost another 5 pounds during her two-day stay with them. They cleared her out fast and moved her to a hospital that's now three hours away from our home. When they're charging $1,500 a day for each patient, they should be properly ready to handle those struggling with anorexia, not just give up at the first sign of difficulty. How exactly did they think they were going to help our daughter get better? They expected it would be easy? I suggest you don't bother with this place unless you're okay with your loved one losing more weight or getting dumped at the first hint of trouble.

Fairwinds Treatment Center

Fairwinds Treatment Center is a dually licensed eating disorder, mental health disorders and substance abuse treatment facility located in Clearwater, Florida. Despite years of drug awareness programs and childhood education initiatives, millions of Americans still find themselves struggling with their own addictions or those of people they love. To stop substance abuse from destroying your relationships, career, health and, ultimately, your life, you must face it head on. While doing so, always remember you don't have to fight the battle alone. Unfortunately, substance abuse and drug addiction are heavily stigmatized in our society. Those suffering are often dismissed as weak individuals with poor moral character. However, addiction is not a failure. It's a chronic illness that affects the brain, pushing a person to continuously and compulsively abuse drugs, even if they're well aware of the harmful consequences.
