"Avoid At All Costs: A Nightmare Experience at Aspire Orlando"

Avoid Aspire at all costs. I had to wait in a room for ten whole hours without any updates from the staff. The room felt so unpleasant, I started calling it "Purgatory". When I asked for an update, the staff were rude to me. The people who worked there seemed like they didn't know what they were doing. One of them acted like he was an expert, but he didn't have a clue about how things work in places like this. Another one was too busy on her phone to tell the nurse that I needed my medication. If I had needed insulin, I would've been in serious trouble. She didn't seem to care at all. I've been to a lot of places but this was the absolute worst. It didn't feel like they were helping me, it felt like they were making things worse for me. The rooms were dirty, with mattresses on the floor. It was like something you'd find in a poor country, not a healthcare facility. I've been to other places where they care about their patients. And this is the first time I've heard that they won't do anything until you see a doctor. At other places, they'd get you a room and a bed. The food at Aspire was frankly disgusting, served in take-out containers. In comparison, airplane food would feel like a gourmet meal. Other places usually serve real food on a table. Someone could seriously get hurt at Aspire because of their careless attitude. There were only a handful of people who seemed to genuinely care about the patients. The day nurse, his new assistant, the woman who did my assessment, and the doctor I met were all helpful and kind. But the rest of the staff was awful. My overall experience with Aspire was a nightmare. I think the place as a whole simply does not care about its patients. It's far from a place of care and well-being, it's more like Aspire doesn't give a hoot about anyone. They need to be reviewed and forcefully shut down. I wish I had taken pictures, but they confiscated all my belongings. Mental health care in Florida is pretty poor, but Aspire is the worst of the lot.
