"Nightmare Experience with Local Mental Health Facility"

This place is a total nightmare. I can't believe the folks working here can sleep at night. They wrongly committed my boyfriend with the help of 5 Winter Park cops. They claimed that him not taking his meds for the last two hours was enough reason to hold him. I don't get it. He was stuck in a holding cell for around 12 hours after being brought in. The cops promised to give him his medicine, but it's been over 30 hours and he hasn't gotten his Abilify. This is what the doctors have given him for years to help with his schizophrenia. If he doesn't take it, he becomes confused and scared. It's a serious deal. The folks at Aspire have done nothing but send me to a complaint line - which by the way, no one answered. They treat patients like they don't matter. I can't give my boyfriend any stuff, like clothes or books. I can't believe they don't even allow the basics for someone who isn't even arrested. They won't even let me talk to him. I got to have a 5 min phone call. All I could hear was loud yelling and a nurse telling people to shut up. I can't get any info from the unit he's in. The employees don't even bother to help when my boyfriend asks for something. They're more interested in their phones than anything else. They just want the bucks and don't care about recovery. This place will surely traumatize you worse than before. I'm praying my boyfriend gets out safe. He said people there are really messed up, making his issues look small. I'm terrified for his safety and mind. This place is awful and should be shut down. No one should be put through this horror. It feels like that season of American Horror Story - the one they called Asylum. We're not in the old times. You can't treat folks with mental issues like they're horrible and deny them the simplest stuff. That would drive anyone bonkers.
